Chuckling Chicken Steak in Zesty Orange Caramel Sauce

Since I am a working mother, the food I cook in my kitchen is always simple, wholesome and easy to make, but there's always a twist. That's the beauty of fusion food (well that's just a fancy name for "cook with whatever you have in your fridge") which can put your taste buds on a riot!

This chicken recipe is exactly the same. Ever wondered pairing up orange and chicken? That's what I got in my freezer today. So let's make something delicious with them!

Preparation time: 15-20 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless chicken steaks

  • 2 cups of orange juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1 cup of brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • A pinch of salt

  • A sprinkle of black pepper (You can add chili flakes/red paprika if you like your food spicy)

  • Other herbs of your preference (e.g. Thyme, Oregano etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your funny bone, I mean oven, to 375°F (190°C). We don't want any cold jokes in our cooking!

  2. In a jolly saucepan, combine the laughter-infused orange juice and mischievous brown sugar over medium heat. Stir with a wooden spoon and allow the mixture to bubble and transform into a golden caramel sauce.

  3. While the caramel sauce is tickling your taste buds, let's prepare the chicken steaks. Sprinkle them with a pinch of salt and black pepper on both sides. Pat them gently, making sure they feel comfortable enough to share a good joke.

  4. In a delightful skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Lay the chicken steaks in the skillet, making sure they have enough space to boogie. Sear each side for about 3-4 minutes until they turn a delightful golden color, like the punchline of a perfectly timed joke.

  5. Once the chicken steaks have had their fun, transfer them to a baking dish and pour the laughter-infused caramel sauce over them. Make sure each steak is covered in this hilarious concoction, guaranteeing a memorable flavor experience. Feel free to add a dash of whimsical thyme for some herb-infused humor.

  6. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and let the chicken steaks bake for 5-10 minutes. This will ensure the flavors meld together.

  7. Once the chicken steaks are cooked through they're ready to steal the show! Remove them from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

  8. Serve the chicken steaks with some sautéed veggies and rice , generously drizzled with the orange caramel sauce.

This chicken steak in zesty orange caramel sauce is a culinary adventure that's bound to bring joy to your table. Enjoy the flavor and embrace the fun!
